Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

LorePixel ("LorePixel," "we," "us," or "our") creates handcrafted, personalized pixel-art games from photos and stories our customers share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, because we'd rather you actually understand it. If anything here is unclear, email us any time at hello@lorepixel.com and we'll be happy to explain further.

This policy applies to lorepixel.com and the order, tracking, and support experience connected to it. It does not apply to third-party sites we may link to.

Information we collect

Account and order information. When you place an order, we collect details like your order number, the package you selected, your launch date preference, and the status of your order over time.

Uploaded photos. The photos you choose to upload so we can turn them into pixel-art characters, places, and scenes for your game.

Story information. The names, occasions, memories, inside jokes, and other personal details you share with us to help write and design your game. This is often the most personal part of an order, and we treat it that way - see "Your photos and story content" below.

Contact details. Your name, email address, and, where you provide it, phone number and country, so we can deliver your game and reach you with updates.

Payment information. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. LorePixel does not receive or store your full card number, CVC, or other full payment credentials - Stripe handles that directly, and we typically only receive limited information such as confirmation that a payment succeeded, a transaction reference, and a partial card summary (for example, the last four digits) for your receipt.

How we use your information

We generally use the information above to:

• Design and produce the personalized game you ordered, including with the help of AI-assisted tools alongside our team's creative work (see "Artificial Intelligence & Automated Tools" below)
• Provide customer support and respond to your questions
• Send order confirmations and status updates
• Send progress emails while your game is in production
• Understand how our service is used so we can improve it over time
• Help detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of our order and payment systems

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or story content for advertising.

Your photos and story content

We know that uploading personal photos and sharing a meaningful story asks for real trust, so we want to be specific about how that content is handled:

You keep ownership. You retain ownership of the photos and story details you upload. Uploading content to LorePixel does not transfer ownership of it to us.

You grant us a limited license to build your game. By uploading photos and story content, you grant LorePixel a limited, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and adapt that content solely for the purpose of designing, producing, and delivering the personalized game you purchased (and, where applicable, providing related support or revisions to that order).

We do not sell uploaded content. Your photos and story details are not sold to third parties.

We do not publicly display your content without permission. Your private game link, photos, and story are intended to stay private to you and the people you choose to share them with. We do not publish your uploaded content publicly - for example, as a marketing example - without asking for your explicit permission first. This is separate from the AI-assisted processing described in "Artificial Intelligence & Automated Tools" below, which is about how content is used to produce your game, not about public display.

Artificial Intelligence & Automated Tools

AI-assisted technologies are part of how we produce LorePixel games, alongside real creative and technical work by our team. We want to be direct about where AI fits into that process and what it means for the information you share with us.

How we use AI in production. Our team uses AI-assisted tools - currently including tools provided by OpenAI - to help with tasks like transforming photos into pixel-art characters and scenes, generating or stylizing artwork and environments, and drafting story elements such as dialogue or narrative details. AI is one tool in our production process, not a replacement for it: a person on our team plans, directs, reviews, and assembles every game before it's delivered. No LorePixel order is produced by AI alone.

Photos may be processed by AI. Uploaded photos may be used as direct input to AI tools - for example, as a visual reference so the AI can help generate a matching pixel-art character or scene. This means a photo you upload may be transmitted to and processed by an AI service provider as part of creating your game.

Story information may be processed by AI. Story details you submit - such as names, relationships, important places and dates, memories, and inside jokes - may also be used, in whole or in part, as input to AI tools, for example to help draft dialogue or story elements consistent with what you've told us.

Third-party AI providers. We currently use OpenAI's tools as part of our production process, and we may use additional or different AI providers in the future as our tools and workflow evolve. Information is shared with an AI provider only as reasonably necessary to help produce your game. Each AI provider processes information under its own terms of service and privacy practices, which are separate from LorePixel's and outside our direct control - we encourage you to review a provider's own privacy policy if you'd like more detail on how they handle information submitted through their tools.

Retention and model training. We have not independently verified - and this policy does not promise - that our AI providers retain or discard submitted content on any particular timeline, or that content submitted to them is never used to improve or train their underlying models. We are not making a "never used for training" or "zero retention" guarantee here because we can't confirm that with certainty; if a provider's terms give us specific, verifiable commitments on this, we'll update this section to reflect them accurately. If this is important to you before ordering, email us at hello@lorepixel.com and we'll share what we currently know.

AI is a production tool, not the product. The personalized game you receive is the result of your submitted photos and story, our team's creative and technical work, and AI-assisted tools used along the way. We don't treat AI as a substitute for the human judgment, design, and review that goes into every LorePixel order.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect your information, including access-restricted storage for uploaded photos, encrypted connections for data in transit, and limiting access to customer data to the LorePixel team members who need it to fulfill your order. Where appropriate, we also rely on established, security-focused providers - for example, Stripe for payment processing - rather than handling sensitive functions ourselves.

That said, no method of online storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of your information. We work to reduce risk and respond promptly if we become aware of an issue, but this policy should not be read as a guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access can never occur.

Third-party services we rely on

Running LorePixel means relying on a small number of trusted providers, including:

Stripe, for payment processing
Resend, for delivering order and account-related emails
OpenAI, whose AI-assisted tools we use to help produce artwork, characters, and story elements for your game - see "Artificial Intelligence & Automated Tools" above
• Our hosting and infrastructure provider(s), for running the website and storing order data and uploaded files

These providers process certain information on our behalf in order to help us operate LorePixel, under their own privacy and security commitments. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies if you'd like more detail on how they handle data. As of this writing, LorePixel's website does not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking; if that changes in the future, we'll update this section accordingly.

Cookies and browser storage

LorePixel's own website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. While you're filling out the order form, your in-progress answers are temporarily kept using your browser's session storage (not a cookie) so an accidental refresh doesn't erase your progress; this is cleared once your order is submitted or when you close the browser tab. Some third-party services we use during checkout, such as Stripe, may set their own cookies as part of processing your payment securely - those are governed by that provider's own cookie and privacy practices, not directly by us.

How long we keep your information

We generally retain order information, uploaded photos, and story content for as long as reasonably needed to produce and deliver your game, provide related customer support, and meet our legitimate business, accounting, or legal recordkeeping needs. Depending on our business needs at the time, files and story content connected to a completed order may be deleted or archived at some point after your game has been delivered and its hosting period has ended - we don't promise an immediate or automatic deletion the moment an order is complete, but we also don't intend to keep uploaded content indefinitely without reason.

Your privacy rights

You're welcome to contact us at any time about your personal information, including to ask to access the information we hold about you, correct inaccurate details, request deletion of your information, or ask general questions about our privacy practices. We'll make a reasonable effort to respond promptly and to honor requests where we're able to. That said, we may not always be able to fulfill every request in full - for example, where we're required to keep certain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes - and we'll let you know if that's the case.

Children's privacy

LorePixel is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can look into it and remove it where appropriate.

International customers

LorePixel operates from the United States, and information we collect is generally processed and stored in the United States. If you're accessing our services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices, services, or applicable laws change. When we make changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
